How to List on Pitchup, Plus Fees and Your Own Site
Pitchup is free to join and takes commission on bookings, so here is how to list and keep your own site earning too.
You have a few pods, huts or pitches, and someone has said “you should be on Pitchup”. Listing is quick, free to start, and paid for through commission on bookings.
To list, fill in Pitchup’s sign-up form and complete your listing in its manager portal. It suits campsites and glamping sites that guests search for by pitch type and area. It works best alongside your own website, because many guests look for the owner’s site once they have found you.
How to list on Pitchup
You list on Pitchup by filling in its sign-up form, then completing your listing in the manager portal it gives you access to. Pitchup says listing is free.
Pitchup is a booking site for camping, caravan and glamping. You’ll be asked for the basics, then you build the listing in the portal.
- Your pitch or unit types, such as tent pitches, lodges or huts
- Photos and a description
- Prices and availability
- House rules and features, such as whether you are adults only
If your site is already on Pitchup
If your site is already there, you still use the sign-up form to claim it. Pitchup says some sites appear because a guest or user told it they exist.
Once you have portal access, you can correct details, add photos and set prices. It is worth doing, as a half-filled listing with old prices doesn’t help anyone.
What listing on Pitchup costs
It costs nothing to join, and you pay commission on the bookings you accept through it. Pitchup’s supplier FAQ describes listing as free with no regular costs or tie-in.
The percentage is the part owners ask about most. Pitchup’s own bookable-listing page has quoted 15 percent including VAT, but its pages differ and terms change. Confirm the current rate in your agreement before you sign up.
Pitchup also expects your prices on its site to be equal to or better than what you charge direct, so you can’t simply add the commission on top for Pitchup guests.
| Cost | What to know |
|---|---|
| Joining | Free |
| Commission | Taken from bookings, 15% including VAT quoted on one Pitchup page, so confirm |
| Extra marketing | Optional extras are offered separately |
Whether Pitchup suits glamping
It can be, especially if your site sits near campsites or farms and guests search by pitch type and area. Pitchup lists lodges and cabins as well as pitches.
A shepherd’s hut with a hot tub is a more specific product than a pitch. Those guests often use Canopy & Stars or CoolStays, so many owners list in more than one place.
Pitchup and direct bookings side by side
You don’t need to choose. Pitchup brings guests who haven’t heard of you, and your own site keeps the booking, and the commission, for the ones who have.
| Pitchup | Your own website | |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost | Free to join | Depends on your site |
| Per booking | Commission | No commission |
| Who finds you | Guests searching Pitchup | Google, social, repeat guests |
| Guest details | Held on the platform | Yours to follow up |
Millie the Hut brought in 42 direct bookings in its first year, saving the owners over £3,000 in commission. That is what a site that takes bookings itself can do.
Why guests still look for your own site
Guests who find you on Pitchup often search for your own site afterwards. They hope for a better deal, or they know the owner keeps more of the money when they book direct.
If they can’t find you, or your site is slow on a phone, the booking goes back to the platform or somewhere else. A clear site with your calendar on it turns that second look into a direct booking.
That means a mobile-friendly site with photos, prices and a booking page. If you need one, see our campsite website design and Anytime Booking integration pages. Our calendars can sync with Airbnb, Booking.com, Canopy & Stars, CoolStays and others.
Fees and terms accurate as of October 2026.
FAQs
Is it free to list on Pitchup?
Pitchup says becoming a bookable listing is free, with no regular costs or tie-in. You pay commission on the bookings it brings you instead. Optional extras are separate, so check what you are agreeing to before you accept anything.
My campsite is already on Pitchup. What do I do?
Pitchup says some sites get listed because a guest or user told it they exist. Fill in the sign-up form and you get access to the manager portal, where you can complete the listing, correct details and take control of it.
How much is Pitchup commission?
Pitchup’s own bookable-listing page has quoted 15 percent including VAT, though its pages differ. Confirm the exact rate in your agreement before you sign up, then work out your margins with it.
Does Pitchup work for glamping?
Yes. Pitchup lists lodges, cabins and glamping alongside tent, caravan and motorhome pitches. It started with pitch-based sites, so it suits glamping best when you sit near campsites, such as pods or huts on a farm.
