Campsite Booking Software Compared for UK Owners
Pitch-based sites need different booking software from cottages. Here is what to look for and how the main options differ.
Your guests want a pitch for the weekend, and you want the booking without the phone tag. The right campsite booking software does that, but the choice looks different for pitches than for cottages.
Campsites need pitch types, a way to show the layout, seasonal rules and add-ons like electric hook-up. Some systems are built for exactly that. Others are built for a handful of lets and get awkward once you have 30 similar pitches. This guide covers what to check and the main options, as of October 2026.
What campsites need from campsite booking software
Campsites sell many similar units with different rules, so the software has to handle quantity and variety. A cottage owner has one calendar per property. You might have 20 grass pitches, 8 hard standings and a few pods, all priced differently.
- Pitch types and pitch maps. Guests often want to choose a spot, or at least a type of pitch.
- Seasonal pitches and long stays. These have different pricing and invoicing from a weekend booking.
- Extras. Electric hook-up, dogs, firewood, an extra vehicle or a late checkout.
- Min stays and rate seasons. Bank holiday weekends rarely work like midweeks in October.
Features to check in booking software
Check that the software does what you actually sell, then look at the rest. Use this list when you talk to suppliers.
The main campsite booking systems
The main UK options fall into three groups. Here is what each supplier says about itself on its own site, as of October 2026. Check current prices and features with them directly, because these change every year.
| Option | What it says it is |
|---|---|
| Anytime Booking | A booking management system for campsites, managing pitches and reservations online |
| Q-Book (Queensborough Group) | Software for campsites, pitches and holiday parks, with a drag and drop calendar, pitch set-up and a channel manager |
| CampManager | Caravan park management and campsite booking software, including online booking and channel management |
| Newbook | Campsite and holiday park software for reservations |
| Outdore | A booking system for campsites and glampsites, with a map-based booking journey |
| Bookalet | A booking system for campsites, covering bookings and invoicing |
| Keydesk | Early-stage booking and property software for independent campsites, holiday parks and glamping sites |
Some of these lean towards bigger holiday parks, with park management features on top. Others suit a small independent site with a few pitches. That is the first filter to apply.
A marketplace is not campsite booking software
A marketplace like Pitchup lists your campsite on its own site and takes a commission on bookings. Booking software runs the bookings you take yourself, usually on your own website, with no per-booking commission from the software (though payment fees still apply).
Many campsites use both. Listing sites bring new guests, and your own system keeps repeat guests booking direct. Check the current commission terms on each listing site, because they change.
How booking software connects to your website
Most systems give you a booking widget or a link that you embed on your site, and the quality of that embed matters. A widget that looks tacked on, or loads slowly on a phone, loses bookings. Guests often browse on mobile, so try your own booking journey on a phone before you sign up.
Think about three things.
- The widget should match your site. Colours, fonts and layout should feel like one place.
- Guests should see availability from your homepage. Fewer clicks means more bookings.
- The page has to rank. The system handles bookings. Your website still has to get found on Google.
We build sites that embed booking systems, including online payments, and our availability calendars can sync with Airbnb, Booking.com, Canopy & Stars, CoolStays and others. If you use Anytime Booking, see how that works with an Anytime Booking integration.
For a glamping example, Millie the Hut’s booking page puts an availability calendar, a short enquiry form and a seasonal rate card on one page. Rory built the site, and it brought 42 direct bookings in its first year, saving the owners over £3,000 in commission.
How to choose campsite booking software
Pick the system that fits your pitch layout and your time, not the one with the longest feature list. A two-pitch farm site does not need a holiday park suite.
Then look at the wider picture. Booking software is one part of getting direct bookings. Our guide on getting more direct bookings covers the rest. If you run safari tents or bell tents, safari tent websites work a little differently, and the same goes for bell tent hire businesses.
If you want the website side done properly, have a look at campsite website design.
FAQs
What is the best campsite booking software?
There isn’t one best option. It depends on whether you sell pitches, pods or a mix, how many units you have and how much support you want. Shortlist two or three systems, run a free trial where offered, and check each one against your own pitch layout and pricing.
Is there caravan park booking software that handles seasonal pitches?
Yes, several systems are built for caravan parks and holiday parks, and some cover seasonal pitches. Ask each supplier directly how they handle long stays, repeat invoicing and pitch fees, because this is where systems differ most.
Can I use cottage booking software for a campsite?
Sometimes, for a handful of pods or huts. It tends to struggle once you sell many similar pitches, pitch types or extras like electric hook-up. Test it with your real pitch list before you commit.
Can campsite booking software sync with Airbnb or Booking.com?
Many can sync availability with other sites, but how they do it varies. Ask whether the sync runs in one direction or both and how often it updates. Without that, a double booking is possible.
