Glamping Booking System Guide for UK Owners

A plain guide to choosing booking software for your glamping site, and getting it to work properly on your own website.

You’ve decided to take bookings on your own website, and now you’re faced with a long list of software. A glamping booking system is the tool that shows availability, takes payment and confirms the stay. The best one for you is the one that fits how you sell, links up with your listings and sits neatly inside your own site.

What a glamping booking system does

It lets guests pick dates, see a price, pay a deposit or the full amount, and get a confirmation, without you replying to every message. Behind the scenes it keeps a calendar of what’s booked so you don’t double book.

Most also handle guest emails, extras and reports. Some add a channel manager, which keeps your calendar in step with listing sites such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Canopy & Stars and CoolStays.

If you only have a couple of units, you may not need all of that. A simple website availability calendar plus an enquiry form is a perfectly fair place to start.

Types of booking system

Broadly, three kinds. Each suits a different kind of site.

Type Examples from the search results Tends to suit
Built for glamping GlampManager, Outdore, Anytime Booking Pods, yurts, huts and bell tents
Holiday let and B&B systems Bookalet, Lodgify, Bedful A few units, often alongside listings
Campsite and holiday park systems Q-Book Pitches and larger parks

This is a snapshot of what ranks in October 2026, not a ranking or a recommendation. Each provider describes its own focus on its own site, so check the current details there.

What to compare

Compare how each system handles your actual business. Feature lists look alike, so the useful questions are practical ones.

Check Why it matters
Pricing Monthly fee, per-booking fee or both. Ask for the full cost on a busy year and a quiet one.
Commission Some charge a cut of each booking, which changes the maths against listing sites.
Online payments Deposits, balance reminders and which payment provider it uses.
Calendar sync or channel manager Which listing sites it connects to, and how often it updates.
Website fit Whether it can be embedded and styled to match, or redirects.
Your rules Minimum stays, changeover days, seasonal rates, extras.
UK support A real person who answers, in UK hours.
Mobile experience Guests often browse and book on their phones.

Ask each provider for the current price in writing. Prices and features change, so date anything you note down.

How it plugs into your website

There are two routes. The booking widget sits on your page, or guests are sent to a page on the provider’s site to book.

Embedding is usually better for you. Guests stay on your pages, see your photos and branding all the way through, and don’t wonder if they’ve landed somewhere else. A redirect works, but it can feel like a hand-off, and some guests drop out at that point.

Embedding is where a web designer can help. We embed booking systems on glamping sites, including online payments, and sync availability calendars with Airbnb, Booking.com, Canopy & Stars, CoolStays and others. If you’re weighing up a specific system, we’ve pages on integrating Lodgify, Bookalet, Beds24 and Anytime Booking.

Keep the booking page simple

Yes. Guests want dates, a price and a clear next step on one page. Don’t make them hunt.

For Millie the Hut, a shepherd’s hut and Shack in a meadow near Presteigne, the booking page puts an availability calendar, a short enquiry form and a seasonal rate card (midweek and weekend prices, minimum stays) all in one place. The site brought 42 direct bookings in its first year, saving the owners over £3,000 in commission.

That’s the sort of page to aim for, whichever system sits underneath. It’s also a core part of getting more direct bookings.

Cost and commission

Work out the total cost, not the headline. A low monthly fee with a cut of each booking can cost more than a higher flat fee once you’re busy.

Set that against what you pay listing sites in commission. Direct bookings through your own site are how many owners cut that bill, but only if guests can find you. That’s where glamping SEO comes in.

FAQs

What is the best booking system for glamping?

There isn’t one best system. The right one depends on how many units you have, whether you list on sites like Airbnb or CoolStays, and how much you want guests to book on your own website. Shortlist two or three, test the guest journey on your phone, then decide.

Do I need a booking system if I only have a few pods?

Not always. A simple availability calendar and an enquiry form can work for a handful of units. But once you want online payments, automatic confirmation emails or calendars that stay up to date across listing sites, a booking system saves you time and avoids double bookings.

Can a booking system sit on my own website?

Yes. Most systems can be embedded on your site, so guests check dates and pay without leaving it. Some instead send guests to a separate page on the provider’s site. Embedding keeps your branding and keeps guests on your own pages.

Can I use a holiday let booking system for glamping?

Often, yes. Many UK holiday let systems handle a few units with set stay lengths and changeover days. Check that it copes with how you sell, such as minimum stays, midweek and weekend rates, and extras like firewood or hot tub fees.
