Holiday let website design

Holiday let website design, built for direct bookings

I design and build websites for UK holiday cottages, holiday homes and self-catering stays. Each one shows your place at its best, takes bookings directly and is set up to be found on Google.

Holiday let website design means building a website for your cottage, lodge or holiday home that guests can book from directly. That’s all Glamping Web Design does. I design, write and look after websites for UK holiday let and glamping owners, from one property to a handful, on plans from £19 a month.

Airbnb, Booking.com and the cottage agencies are good at putting your place in front of people. Your own website is where those people go when they want to know more, come back for a second stay or look you up by name. It’s the one place where you set the terms and a booking doesn’t pay a listing site’s commission.

Not sure what a good one needs? The holiday let website checklist covers it page by page.

Case study · Millie the Hut

A direct booking website that paid its way.

Millie the Hut is a shepherd’s hut in the Welsh Marches. It already had a Canopy & Stars listing, but no way to take bookings directly. I built a website with local tips, a seasonal rate card and an availability calendar on one booking page.

The Millie the Hut website homepage

For cottages, lodges and every kind of holiday home.

Whatever your stay looks like, the job is the same. Show it honestly, answer guests’ questions before they ask and make booking easy. If you run a glamping site, there’s more on glamping website design on the homepage.

A designer, or a website builder.

Builders like Wix and Squarespace, and the sites that come with booking platforms like Lodgify, will get you online. The catch is that you do the building, the writing and the upkeep, and you’re tied to what the platform allows. A designer does that work for you and builds around how your guests actually book.

Both routes can work. The website builder vs web designer guide compares them on cost, SEO and booking, and there are honest reviews of Wix, Squarespace and Lodgify’s alternatives if you’re weighing one up.

How it works.

No perfect brief needed. A few photos and a chat are plenty to start with.

  1. Talk through your plans.

Tell me about your place, the guests you love welcoming and what you want your website to do. We’ll look at what you have already, what’s missing and which plan fits. A few photos and a chat are plenty to start with.

  2. Design and content.

I’ll shape the design and write the words around what makes your place special. From the first impression to the local tips, it should feel like an invitation to stay. You’ll see a preview and we’ll work through your thoughts together.

  3. Checks and booking integration.

We’ll check the photos, details and how it all feels on a phone. If your plan includes booking integration, I’ll connect your provider and check the route from browsing to booking. You get a chance to look everything over before launch.

  4. Launch and ongoing care.

Once you’re happy, we’ll put your website live and you can share your own link with guests. I’m still here for maintenance and the basic updates included in your plan. New photos or a change of details? Just send them over.

Frequently asked questions.

How much does a holiday let website cost?

Plans start at £19 a month per property for a website of up to five pages. The £39 plan adds a more bespoke build and booking integration, and the £59 plan adds ongoing SEO with five blog posts a month. You can also pay upfront instead. Any booking-system subscription or transaction fees are separate, and I’ll talk them through with you first.

Can guests book and pay on my website?

Yes, on the £39 and £59 plans. Your booking system is embedded in the site, including online payments, so guests book without leaving it. Tell me which system you use, or plan to use, and I’ll check what’s possible before we start.

Will my calendar stay in step with Airbnb and Booking.com?

Availability calendars can sync with Airbnb, Booking.com, Canopy & Stars, CoolStays and others. Your listings keep running as they do now, and your own site shows the same availability.

How long does it take to build a holiday let website?

A website on the £19 plan is usually live within a few days to a week. A more bespoke build with booking integration on the £39 plan takes up to about two weeks.

Do I need to stop using Airbnb or my cottage agency?

No. Your website works alongside the platforms that already bring you guests. It gives returning guests, and people who find you elsewhere and look you up, a way to book with you directly.

Do you only build websites for glamping sites?

No. Glamping sites are where I started, but I build websites for holiday cottages, holiday homes, lodges and other self-catering stays too, from a single property to a small collection. I’m based in Herefordshire and work with owners across the UK.
